Libraries were packed and Sallyport deserted Thursday as the student body prepared to meet the emergency at hand. Mid-semester examinations begin Monday morning for all undergraduates, and extend until Thursday, February 6. The revised examination schedule has been posted on the bulletin board at the Administration Building for the past three weeks. _ Greatest activity and preparation was evident in the dormitories where special reviews have been held in the South Hall study hall all week. In all three residential halls signs with the general legend "Busy Studying" were either being constructed or already hanging on locked doors. Dozens of dormitory residents had already begun the practice of not shaving, said to be insurance against the temptation of going out at night. Autry House Attendance On the campus and at Autry House there were further Mgns of the approaching examinations. Early in the week there was a marked increase in ' attr'nd.q'nee at Autry House, but this was falling rapidly on Thursday as students concentrated upon completing term themes and outside reading. Posted with the examination schedule were the usual excerpts from the Institute catalogue regarding scholarship requirements.
